You are a Survival!

Yesterday while going to work, I took a motorcycle to get to my destination. Just in front of the motorcycle was a Cock crowing. As the motorcycle started to accelerate and moving towards the Cock, I was expecting the Cock to stop, run away from the motorcycle and then continue crowing. But what I saw amazed me. The Cock ran away still crowing……
Right there God placed these words in my heart…”Even the animals won’t give up. Why would humans who I created in my likeness and image do”? I was speechless for a while and I couldn’t respond to the question because it was too technical to me.
If you visit the slaughter houses over here in Nigeria and watch the scene on how they slaughter the cow and how it struggles for survival, you will almost pity the animal but because you will be buying and eating from it, drives that instinct away. Animals don’t give up when things go so bad for them, they learn to adapt and survive. There’s a saying that “No matter the condition of the forest, the Lion will never eat grass”.
If the animals won’t give up, how much more us… the higher beings created in the image and likeness of the creator, given dominion and authority over everything created (Land, water and air)?

I know you’ll say “they are just animals” but yet they chose to survive rather than give up on God. Yes God!  Psalm 104:21 “The young lions roar after their prey, and  seek their food from God.”

Matthew 6:26 “Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?
You are a survival….. you survived and fought your way through 100 million sperms to be here. You survived hunger when mommy went to get something from the market while you were asleep but woke up later and mommy was not there. You survived various falls as a baby that people thought might give an everlasting mark on you or probably an internal injury. You survived bullies in school and in your street. You survived that heartbreak. You survived that traumatic incident. You survived that ulcer. You survived that asthma. You survived being a single Mom and Dad after the death of your wife or husband or as a result of a broken home. You survived without a job for fifteen years after graduation and up til now, you still wonder how you made it through those fifteen years until God provided a way out (Job). You  survived the hunger for days and sometimes a week, just to have something to eat in a friends place. You survived that cancer. You survived! Yes you survived.
We are survivors…. that’s who we are. I’ve read and heard of people who commit suicide and others who kill themselves and the entire family just to end the tough times. There’s a saying that “Tough times don’t last but tough people do”. Every situation has an entry date and an expiry date. For every Cancer, theres a cancellation date. For every heartbreak there’s a mending time. For every broken home, there’s a fixing date. For every loss of job, theres an employment date. For every form of sickness, there’s healing date. Nothing is meant to be permanent in our lives. Earth is our temporary home and while we remain here, whatever is not meant to be has to go. We just have to hang on and not loose hope. The human race is connected to each other, be it black or white. We are built to help each other stand and encourage one another going through diverse challenges in life. I don’t know what you are going through, neither do you know what I am going through. But in the midst of the storm i choose to place my hope in the one who is the master in sleeping peacefully in the storm. He alone can grant me peace during the storm.
2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

This is where my assurance and my hope lies. He gives me peace always by all means. Even in very tough times? Yes…. God is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that He should repent. If He said it He will do it.  I dare you to put your Trust, Hope and Faith in Him. He will and can fix that situation and also give you peace in the midst of it. Don’t give up….Hold on……It will be better.
